Directions:
From Castlebar take the R311, or from Westport the N59 to Newport. From Newport take the N59 to Mulranny village. Continue through the village past the Mulranny Park Hotel and take the first left turn, pass the school and church, then the next left signposted for the beach.

Summer and Winter
Winter :
Light-bellied Brent Geese can be seen on the mud flats near the bridge at high tide, along with occasional Little Egret.
Cormorants, Shags, Common Tern, Common Gull and Kittiwake viewed from the beach.
Snipe and Lapwing are also present.
The mud flats in this location support good numbers of waders such as Curlew, Oystercatcher, Sanderling, Bar-tailed Godwit, Redshank, Greenshank, Ringed Plover.
Summer:
Arctic and Sandwich Terns can be seen fishing near the beach.
